How it works
Setup takes about a minute.
- 01
Add your habits
No account, no onboarding wall, no email. Open the app and start — your first daily habit takes seconds. Already been at it a while? Tap past days to bring that history with you.
- 02
Check in each day
One tap to complete. Miss a day? Use a second chance and your streak stays alive — no reset, no guilt.
- 03
Watch it add up
Every check-in lights up your momentum map. A few weeks in, you can see the effort stacking up — and it gets harder to stop.
Works with real life
Your streak survives real life.
Miss a day? Use a second chance and your streak stays intact — no reset, no starting over. There's no quota and nothing to spend; the only rule keeps it honest, because you can't use two back-to-back, so a long streak still means you earned it.
Saw it coming — a trip, an illness, a week of rest? A planned break pauses the habit so a gap you expected never counts against you. Come back exactly where you left off.
Second chances are free for everyone · planned breaks come with Premium.

For data lovers
A year of yourself, one cell per day.
Every completed day brightens the grid, until months of check-ins become a picture of your consistency you can actually see — not just a number. Hover any day to read it back. The recent eight weeks are free; Premium zooms out to your lifetime and year-by-year record.
Your record starts where you did.
Been at it for months already? Tap the days you did — backfilling counts toward your streak and fills the grid, so switching trackers doesn't cost you the history you earned. Editing past dates is free, and CSV import and export mean your data leaves as easily as it arrives.

The finishing touches
Details that earn a place on your Home Screen.
↑ tap a color — the page re-tints live
Six gem accents
Emerald, ruby, sapphire, amethyst, topaz, aquamarine. Try them above — the whole page re-tints, just like the app does.
Ten app icons
Dress the Home Screen icon to match your accent or your mood. A small, satisfying detail.
Home Screen widgets
The small Today widget keeps your progress on the Home Screen; the large one adds the habit list with streaks — both free. Premium brings the checkboxes to life: tap one to complete it without ever opening the app.

Private by design
There's nothing to leak, because there's nothing collected.
Your habits live on your iPhone. No account, no analytics, no ad network, not one third-party SDK, and no server of ours holding anything — which is why the App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected.” Sync, when it's on, reaches only your own private iCloud, controlled from iOS Settings so you can turn it off and stay device-only whenever you like.

Questions
Before you download.
Is Onyx really free?
Yes. Unlimited daily habits, streaks, second chances, the Today widget, and CSV import and export are free forever — no ads, no cap, no catch. Onyx Premium is an optional upgrade for deeper Insights, planned breaks, widget tap-to-complete, and every accent and app icon.
Why a subscription instead of paying once?
A subscription funds the ongoing work — new features, iOS updates, and support — for an app with no ads and no data to sell. If you’d rather not subscribe, Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks everything forever. Either way, the free tier stays genuinely useful.
Can I try Premium before I pay?
Yes — every Premium feature is free for 14 days, no strings. Cancel any time before it ends and you’re never charged. Your habits and history always stay yours, on every plan.
Can I bring my history from another app?
Yes, two ways. Import a CSV to merge an existing backup, or just open a habit’s calendar and tap the days you already did — backfilling counts them toward your streak and fills in your momentum map. Editing past dates is free, so your history starts where you did.
Does every habit have to be daily?
For now, yes — Onyx 1.0 is built for daily habits, and that focus is why the streaks, second chances, and momentum map stay this simple. Custom schedules like three-times-a-week are the next feature up. If you need them today, Onyx probably isn’t your app yet.
Is my data actually private?
Everything lives on your iPhone. There’s no account, no analytics SDK, no ad network, and no server of ours holding your data — Onyx ships with zero third-party SDKs, which is why its App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected.” Sync, when it’s on, reaches only your own private iCloud.
What happens if I miss a day?
Life happens. Use a second chance and your streak stays intact — no reset, no shame. You just can’t use two on back-to-back days, so a streak still means something. Second chances are free for everyone, with no quota and nothing to spend.
Will it sync across my devices?
Yes — it already does, with nothing to set up. iCloud sync is on by default, keeping your habits consistent across your Apple devices through your own private iCloud, never through us. It lives in iOS Settings rather than behind an in-app switch, so you can turn it off there any time and stay device-only.
